At North Legon Little Campus we believe in building a strong foundation for all children in order to prepare them adequately for the school experience.
As a school, we believe pre-school education goes beyond sharing of knowledge in a classroom setting; it involves developing the whole child. To achieve this, we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework (EYFSF) where we facilitate learning among the kids to suit all abilities and interests.
The Pre-School session of North Legon Little Campus welcomes children from age 1 to 4, starting from Crèche and ending at Reception. Our qualified and dedicated staff offers a safe, caring and conducive environment for children to learn and develop their skills and talents. In doing so, we encourage and stimulate active learning through play, enabling our children to grow in confidence.
Our curriculum enables all children to progress towards the following six areas of learning:
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
- Communication, Language and Literacy
- Problem Solving, Reasoning and Numeracy
- Knowledge and Understanding of the World
- Physical Development
- Creative Development
At the Pre-School level we introduce Alphabet, Numbers, Shapes, Pencil Control, Counting, Spot the Difference, Colouring, Music, Appreciation, Rhymes, News, Painting, Sand and Water Play, Cooking, Play Dough, Puzzles, flash Cards, Computer Sessions, including Word Reading and many more.
In addition to the above we introduce kids in Nursery 2 to French.
Apart from classroom activities, our children embark on periodic field trips in order to acquire practical knowledge on various themes being handled in the classroom.
Our Pre-School programme provides a solid foundation for the Cambridge Primary Programme
